Claessen Transport expands vehicle fleet and goes intermodal
Bree, 10th of December 2020
Dutch transporter Claessen Transport expands its fleet with no less than 30 new LAG road tankers and is starts up an intermodal test project at the same time. The new trailers will be delivered in the course of this and the following year.
Claessen Transport and LAG Trailers are once again working together on a new project. This recent order involves 30 stainless steel tank trailers and 1 container chassis from LAG Trailers leaving for Roggel, in the Netherlands.
Lex Claessen, CEO of Claessen Transport expresses his preference for LAG as follows: 'We have been working together for more than 10 years now and are enormously satisfied with the cooperation and the product. Never change a winning team.’
For the transport of foodstuffs, the experienced team at Claessen Transport opts for one and the same execution for the entire order. With a pickled inner tank and a high level finishing, the focus is clearly on hygiene. LAG Trailers has also built in a demountable spray pipe to facilitate tank cleaning.
Furthermore, the tanks are equipped with heating pipes to maintain the right temperature when transporting goods.
Claessen goes intermodal
Claessen Transport has also purchased a tank container chassis for the first time. The company is going to carry out an intensive test with the new chassis in order to respond to intermodal traffic.
‘We always want to optimise our working methods. Intermodal traffic is an important starting point for this. With the new LAG container chassis we will immediately start a test period of 6 months. If after evaluation it appears that this will significantly improve our efficiency, we will focus our attention firmly on this,’ according to Claessen.
