LAG launches new generation of lightweight silo trailers.

LAG Trailers is the undisputed Benelux market leader in the field of silo trailers for over a decade already. This fall, the company releases its new generation of silo semi-trailers. The silo trailer has lost an impressive 200 kg of its weight.

No compromises

LAG’s engineering team received the immense task of building a light vehicle without neglecting the well-known durability. They’ve realized a weight loss of 200 kg by redesigning the trailer from scratch. A larger input of aluminium parts and ingenious alterations of the chassis and the tank took the weight down.

LAG trailers anodizes all the aluminium parts. Anodizing as surface treatment ensures that aluminium will be corrosion resistant.

Engineer Patrick Peeters expressed it as follows: "Our silo trailer is known as a robust vehicle with a very long lifetime cycle. This was a characteristic that wasn’t up for discussion. But with the new generation we wanted to reach a massive weight loss. Creative solutions in the chassis, fittings and the tank finally provided us with this great result!"

Durability over weight

The manufacturer remained very passionate in preserving its durability. So LAG Trailers retained the known tank support plates. This construction completely eliminates wear-induced cracks under the tank. The clamping system at the front will prevent shocks and wear and tear of the tank, while impacts at the back can be absorbed by the bumper structure, before the tank will experience damage.

No subtle change

Besides weight and durability, the focus laid also on service-friendliness and visual quality. The trailer will have a shorter lead time and improved its looks, according to the Belgian manufacturer. The company is keen to present the new silo trailer to its existing customer base.
