LAG

Paving the way for future growth.

LAG Trailers, the Belgian pioneer in tanker construction, was founded in 1947 by brothers Lambert and Arnold Geusens. Over the decades, the company has built a strong reputation and continues to expand on this solid foundation. "To maintain our competitive edge, we must continue investing in growth opportunities, LAG Trailers is fully committed to this vision," says Rob Ramaekers, CEO of LAG Group. As the company nears its 80th anniversary, it is also focused on a future full of promising prospects, for both the company and its customers.

From vision to reality

In recent years, several strategic investments have proven critical to the company's continued success. Rob Ramaekers notes: "The establishment of our subsidiary CIENL is a key milestone in our journey to become one of Europe’s top three manufacturers." Since its founding in 2022, CIENL has significantly enhanced LAG Group’s production capacity. The new assembly plant can now produce up to 1.200 chassis annually, accelerating the company’s trajectory toward its ambitious goal.

A major advancement

The numbers speak for themselves. Over the past decade, LAG Group’s production output has risen from 1.700 to 2.200 units annually. However, the company is far from done. "The vision is clear and we’re getting closer to our goal of producing 3.000 units per year. With the new initiatives we have in place, we are taking crucial steps to strengthen our position," Rob Ramaekers explains. A key investment in this effort is the planned expansion with a new facility in Bree, designed to improve production efficiency. "By completing this project by 2027, we will not only increase our market share but it will also bring us closer to our ambition: to be among the top three manufacturers of tanker and intermodal transport vehicles in Europe," Ramaekers adds.

BIG LEAP sets the course

Since its founding, LAG Trailers has provided the market with cutting-edge solutions, including fuel trailers, tank trailers, silo trailers, containers and container chassis. "Our factory, now 78 years old, has served us well, but parts of the production hall are outdated, leading to energy losses and inefficiencies," explains Jacky Segers, Quality Manager and project leader for the BIG LEAP project.

The BIG LEAP initiative has been designed to tackle these challenges. "The name says it all: this project marks a major leap forward in achieving our growth targets," Segers adds. The new construction will include upgraded final inspection stations, a combined paint and drying hall, five offline assembly stations and a showroom. "The showroom will give our sales team the perfect space to welcome customers, demonstrate our products and explain how they meet customer needs. Customer focus will be at the heart of this new phase," says Maarten Houben, Director of Sales & Marketing.

The renovation will begin with the demolition of outdated infrastructure, covering approximately 3.000 m². Detailed plans for the new construction project have already been submitted for approval, with construction slated to begin in early 2026. LAG Trailers expects to take significant steps toward its long-term goals in 2027.

Building the future, step by step

With these strategic plans, LAG Trailers continues to build on its 78 years of expertise in tanker and intermodal transport vehicles. The company’s expertise extends far beyond the Benelux region, reaching customers across Europe. As LAG prepares for its next chapter, it stays committed to innovation and growth, ensuring it remains a trusted leader in the industry.
