First employee to reach 50 years of service.
LAG Trailers has reached a remarkable milestone in its company history. For the first time, an employee is celebrating a 50‑year service anniversary. Louis L., currently active as Supervisor Deliveries & Transport, joined the company on 10 May 1976 and has since witnessed half a century of evolution within the organisation.
Louis began his career at LAG Trailers during the period when the company was still led by its founders, Lambert and Arnold Geusens. He was hired by then‑director Jacques Geusens, son of Lambert. “It feels like it was only yesterday,” Louis reflects. “I’ve seen LAG grow from a small family business into a strong organisation with advanced production lines and automated welding robots.”
A versatile career
Throughout his career, Louis has held various positions within LAG Trailers. He started in 1976 in the warehouse, where he was responsible for stock management and logistical support. In the years that followed, he combined this role with duties as deputy gatekeeper.
He later joined the service department, where he handled administrative follow‑up and warehouse management. In 1987, he transitioned to sales and vehicle deliveries, focusing on organising deliveries and the transport of new vehicles. Louis then gained experience within the final inspection and vehicle delivery department. This eventually led to his current role as Supervisor Deliveries & Transport, in which he combines the reception of vehicle deliveries with gatekeeper responsibilities.
“From a sales perspective, Louis has grown into a cornerstone of our delivery and transport processes over the years. His experience and close contact with customers and drivers ensure every delivery is reliable and of high quality. He is an essential link in the customer experience at LAG Trailers,” says Maarten H., Director Sales & Marketing.
Professional dedication and relationship‑driven work
The common thread throughout Louis’ career is his strong passion for the profession and the human aspect of his role. “The daily contact with customers, drivers and suppliers has been my greatest motivation for 39 years. Over that time, you build lasting relationships and mutual trust. LAG has always remained my first and only employer,” Louis explains.
It is precisely this sense of connection with LAG that is felt every day, confirms Jacky S., Quality Manager. “Louis combines strong expertise with a great sense of responsibility.”
A milestone of unprecedented significance
Rob R., CEO of LAG Trailers, emphasises the exceptional nature of this milestone: “A 50‑year service anniversary is unprecedented within our organisation and marks an absolute first. Louis embodies the loyalty and commitment that define LAG Trailers. We express our deep appreciation for his many years of dedication.”
HR Manager Erik Sch. also highlights the importance of this celebration: “LAG Trailers has a strong seniority culture, with service durations of up to 45 years. Being able to honour 50 years of service is truly special and unique. Within our organisation of 332 employees, we are also celebrating 12 colleagues with 25 years of service and 9 colleagues with 40 years of service this year. In addition, 51 colleagues are reaching a new five‑year milestone, ranging from 5 to 35 years of service.”
A historic milestone
The 50‑year anniversary of Louis L. not only confirms his personal dedication but also underscores the sustainable company culture at LAG Trailers, where employees are given the opportunity to grow and develop over the long term.
